April 10 - Ambush in Iripití. The army suffers eleven casualties and thirty of its men are taken prisoner. On the guerrilla side, El Rubio (Cuban Capt. Jesús Suárez Gayol) is killed.
April 10 - Fourth Division communiqués are intercepted, which report two successive ambushes in Iripití, leaving the Division with 8 dead, some wounded and some taken prisoner.
"On April 10, the rebel column clashed with the army once more at a place called Iripiti. Eleven soldiers died in the skirmish, seven were wounded and eleven were taken prisoner. The guerrillas also had casualties." p.205

April 13 - The North Americans are announcing that sending advisers to Bolivia corresponds to a plan long in place, and has nothing to do with the guerrillas.
April 17 - In order to evacuate Regis Debray and Ciro Roberto Bustos, Ché sets ahead towards Muyupampa, parting company with the rear guard led by Joaquín (Cuban commander Vitalio Acuña Núñez). Contact between them will never be reestablished.
April 18 - Debray and Bustos are captured in Muyupampa, along with the British journalist Roth.
April 19 - George Andrew Roth, an Anglo-Chilean journalist, had arrived in the encampment and had been received with caution. Bolivian intelligence sources identify him later as a collaborator with the CIA, whose mission was to attempt the spreading of a chemical substance called "the technical trail" among the guerrilla fighters, so that later they could be tracked by trained dogs.
April 20 - Notice is given of the apprehension of Regis Debray (French) and Carlos Fructuoso (Argentinean), made prisoners in Muyupampa as they attempted to evade the army.
"On April 20th an army patrol stopped Regis Debray and Bustos, who had incidentally joined George Andrew Roth, a British photographer. They were apprehended as they walked through the small town of Muyupampa." p. 206
April 23 - The fate of Danton, Pelado and the English journalist remains unknown. There is press censorship, and they are now announcing another clash, in which three to five prisoners were taken.
April 25 - Rolando (Cuban Capt. Eliseo Reyes), the Political Commissar, dies in battle. According to Ché, he was "the best man in the guerrilla." Two army casualties.
April 26 - Two new army casualties in Taperillas.
April 27 - ¨Bolivian radio is broadcasting... It has been confirmed that Dantón is being held prisoner near Camiri. Clearly the others are also alive with him.
April 27 - El Loro is wounded and captured in a scouting mission; he is interrogated and tortured in the Choreti hospital, and subsequently executed by shooting.
April 27 - "Loro" (Jorge Vázquez Viaña) is wounded and taken prisoner near Monteagudo. After being interrogated in the Camiri hospital by "Dr. Eduardo González," a CIA agent,Vázquez Viaña is transferred to the Choreti hospital and then disappears mysteriously. On May 29 the 4th Army Division Command reports that he escaped from the hospital. The case was never cleared.
April 30 - Danton and Carlos fell victim to their almost desperate rush to leave, and to my lack of energy in preventing them from doing so. As a result, communication with Cuba was cut (Danton) and the plan of action in Argentina has been lost (Carlos).
May 4 - The radio has reported the arrest of Loro, wounded in the leg. His statements have been good up to now. Everything seems to indicate that he was not wounded at the house but somewhere else, presumably trying to escape.
May 5 - The prisoners Regis Debray, Carlos Fructuoso and N. Roth are transferred in a CESSNA airplane from Camiri to Santa Cruz, by Cavalry Maj. Quintanilla.
May 5 - It was reported that Debray will be tried by a military court in Camiri as the alleged head or organizer of the guerrillas. His mother is arriving tomorrow and there is plenty of noise about the whole affair. About Loro, nothing.
